Downtown Houston offers numerous - and diverse - parks for all Houstonians and visitors.

New Downtown ParkPark - GRB Rendering
Downtown's future 11.78-acre downtown park is being designed, will be under construction in 2006 and 2007, and will open in late 2007.  The Houston Downtown Park Conservancy is designing and building the park and will maintain it.  This will be a significant urban park for all of Houston.  Meetings with the community continue, with the next presentation/ community input meeting to take place Wednesday, September 28.

Fish Plaza
Fish Plaza is located at the entrance of Wortham Theater Center, and has hosted many social galas and concerts

Jones Plaza
Jones Plaza is a one-square-block plaza is a popular site for concerts, tented parties, pep rallies and civic events.

JPMorgan Chase Pocket ParkPark - JPMC Pocket Park lg
Located at the corner of Texas Avenue and Milam Street, JPMorgan Chase offers an outdoor venue beneath the trees and next to a waterfall, all in the heart of downtown's Skyline District.

Market Square Park
Market Square plays a historic role in Houston's past, having served many functions, not the least of which was as a public market.  Market Square Park hosts the Market Square Market on Saturdays.

Root Memorial Square
Sitting adjacent to Toyota Center, Root Memorial Square serves as an important new focus for outdoor events in downtown Houston and enhances the Toyota Center / Convention and Entertainment District.  This historic square was reconstructed and revitalized in 2005.

Sam Houston ParkSam Houston Park
Sam Houston Park is overseen by the Heritage Society, and offers eight well preserved historic structures, tours, exhibitions, lecture series and a research library.

Sesquicentennial Park 
Built in commemoration of Houston and Texas' 150th birthday, Sesquicentennial Park flanks Buffalo Bayou and the Wortham Center.  The 10.4-acre park includes a promenade, a collection of seven 70-foot stainless steel pillars, a gazebo and cascading waterfalls.

Tranquility Park
Built to commemorate the July 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, Tranquility Park includes walkways, cylindrical water fountains, open green space and serene pools of water.
