Originally built in 1910, the Southern Pacific Railroad Building was converted into Bayou Lofts in the late 1990s. In the late 1970's, Don and Peg Hartmann bought the building and converted it into condominiums. The facade was retained as well as the 11'-12' beamed ceilings, gas fireplaces, much of the original hardware and the original elevator which is still operated by the doorman. The building, listed on the US Interior Department's National Register of Historic Places, is designed with two units to most floors featuring hardwood floors, a large living room, separate dining room, 2 or 3 bedrooms with baths. Capitol Lofts

The Capitol Lofts were constructed in the early 1900s as the M.E. Foster building and it served as office and retail space for many years. In the mid eighties, the building was gutted and upgraded and in 1998, the building was purchased and redesigned as residential lofts. The 10-story Keystone building was originally designed by architect Joseph Finger and built in the early 1920's as a multi-tenant office building. In 1975, the building was converted into a document storage facility. In 1998 the Keystone renovation was complete and the building was renamed to "Keystone Lofts". With only 34 units Keystone is one of the smaller buildings in Houston's downtown.
