We all know that airports can be a hassle these days but a little planning and preparation can make a big difference. Try these tips to help you breeze right through.
Before Your Trip:
• Check your itineraries for seat assignments and make any ticket changes you need • Handle any special needs you might have before you get to the airport • Check to make sure the contact information we have for you is right • Take care of passports, visas, and any important papers you might need way ahead of time • Use online check-in tools and self-service kiosks to avoid long lines at the airport • Know the check-in requirements for your airport
Preparing for Security:
• Leave your pocket-knives, files, scissors, and any sharp objects at home or put them in your checked baggage • Check security checkpoint wait-times to make sure you arrive at the airport in plenty of time • Be ready to take off your shoes and put belts, mobile phones, and metal objects in your carry-on • Have your ID and boarding pass out and ready to show • Take your laptop out of its case and place it in the container provided for you
During Your Trip:
• Check the display screens and monitors in the airport to find your gate • Arrive at the gate early with your boarding pass and e>ticket receipt • Keep an eye on the gate display screens that we have in most airports • Listen closely for announcements at the gate. It might be important stuff

The Houston Airport System has three facilities that form one of North America's largest public airport systems and positions Houston as the international gateway to the south central United States.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport/Houston (IAH) is served by 23 scheduled passenger airlines. This convenient passenger gateway is the largest hub airport for Continental Airlines, and numerous other carriers also offer domestic and international air service. Over 150 destinations worldwide are accessible through nonstop or direct flights.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport is located 23 miles north of downtown Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Convenient access to the airport is provided by Interstate 45, U.S. Highway 59, the Hardy Toll Road, and the Sam Houston Toll Road (Beltway 8).
There are two main entrances to the airport terminal complex via John F. Kennedy Boulevard from the Sam Houston Toll Road (Beltway 8) and Will Clayton Parkway from U.S. Highway 59.
William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is served by 8 scheduled passenger airlines and is the largest hub airport for Southwest Airlines. Other carriers also offer domestic air service through Hobby Airport. Only U.S. destinations are served through Hobby. All of Houston's international air service is flown from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
William P. Hobby Airport is located approximately 7miles from the central business district.
The airport is readily accessible via major thoroughfares and freeways to the entire metropolitan area. Interstate Highway 45 borders Hobby.
Ellington Field, a joint use civil/military airport supports the operations of the United States military, NASA, and a variety of general aviation tenants. The airport is home to the annual Wings Over Houston Airshow and is also the place where many of the astronauts from the world-renowned Johnson Space Center receive their ongoing space training.
Ellington Field is operated and maintained by the Houston Airport System.
Approximately 15 miles south of downtown Houston, Ellington Field is located off of I-45/Gulf Freeway, the major highway heading from the City to NASA and Galveston Island.
Shuttles Express Shuttle USA: 713-523-8888 Service operates between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Trips are scheduled every half hour to both major airports from The Hyatt Regency Hotel, The Hilton Americas Hotel and the Four Seasons Hotel. Travelers at other downtown hotels must make advance reservations.
Texans Super Shuttle: 713-781-6660 Service operates between 5:00 a.m. and midnight. Trips are scheduled every half hour to both major airports from The Crowne Plaza Hotel, The Doubletree Allen Center, The Hyatt Regency and The Four Seasons Hotel. Travelers at other hotels must make advance reservations.
Taxis Want a cab? Yellow Cab and others serve downtown. Pick up a cab at any hotel, as well as other locations.
