Help an underprivileged child attend a Houston Comets’ game. Plant trees along the Bayou with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership's Bayou Buddies. Make the Komen Houston Race for the Cure the best ever. Organize a clothing drive as a member of the Houston Downtown Alliance's Emerging Leaders. These are just a few of the many ways you can give back to the community and make new friends at the same time.
CROSSROADS mentors are regular people, just like you, who prevent or reduce youth involvement with the juvenile justice system by fostering positive mentoring relationships. The goal is crime prevention! Our mentors must be 21 years of age and volunteer a minimum of 1 hour a week. There are many sites available; however, there will be a new site right here in downtown Houston at the Harris County Juvenile Justice Center, 1200 Congress.
Our mentors are the only visitors these children get. They are allowed to be a listening ear for the child and play cards, games, dominoes, etc.
Please consider devoting just one hour a week to the future of a needy child and contact
